Biographies
Maya Chowdhry
Is an award winning poet, playwright and inTer-aCt-ive artist creating lyrical texts for radio, the web, page and stage. Winner of the BBC Radio Young Playwrights Festival in 1991 with Monsoon and The Cardiff International Poetry Competition in 1992 with Brides of Dust.
Since 1989 my poetry has been published in several anthologies and magazines, on the web and CD; including The Redbeck Anthology of British South Asian Poetry, Healing Strategies for Women at War: Seven Black Women poets, Nailing Colours, Kiss, As Girls Could Boast; new poetry by women, Language of Water Language of Fire, Putting in the Pickle Where the Jam Should be, Ambit and Daskhat: Journal of South Asian Literature.
In 1997 my first stage play Kaahini was nominated for Best Children's Theatre by The Writers' Guild (Capercaillie Books, 2004). Plays include: An Appetite for Living - West Yorkshire Playhouse, Seeing - The Royal Court Theatre & Tamasha, The Crossing Path - The National Theatre: Shell Connections (Faber & Faber), Playing with Fire – TAG Theatre. Kaahini (Capercaillie Books) was nominated for Best Children's Theatre by The Writers' Guild. She was writer-on-attachment at the National Theatre Studio in 2002.
My seven radio plays include: the CRE nominated Four Corners for BBC Radio Four, Black is the Colour of My True Love’s Hair and Mother Me.
Since 2000 I have being working on hypertext and flash poetry; including alienAsian and Scottish Skin for the web.
My first love is poetry.
Andy Campbell
Andy Campbell is a writer and new media artist. His website Dreaming Methods "further[s] the poetics of digital fiction"� (Jim Andrews, vispo.com) and has been described by the Times Educational Supplement as "...one of the most impressive purveyors of the new art form of internet reading."
Campbell is the co-director of One to One Productions Ltd, an organisation which aims to open up new possibilities and innovation in producing creative media with organisations, groups and individuals.
